What ConsentAlly does not do.
This page lists what ConsentAlly does not do, so that every other page on this site can be read against it; it starts with the limits we know today and grows as the product does.
It is not available yet
ConsentAlly is in development. Nothing on this site can be installed today, and no launch date has been set. Anything described as coming is not available until it appears in the changelog.
A visitor's ad blocker is the visitor's choice
If a visitor's ad blocker removes the ConsentAlly script, ConsentAlly will not try to evade the filter list. The visitor has made a choice, and no banner appears. On Shopify, Shopify's own regional consent defaults still gate Shopify's pixels in that case.
Safari limits script-set cookies to seven days
Safari caps cookies set by scripts at seven days, so a visitor on Safari may be asked again after a week. On Shopify, the decision will persist through Shopify's server-set consent cookie. For the standalone script, resilience to this cap is coming and is not available in the first release.
It is not legal advice
ConsentAlly is being built to give a store the tools to ask, to block and to record. What a store must ask for, in which region, is a legal question, and the presets are a starting point, not advice.
